議論が行き詰まったので、来週に仕切り直すことにした。

The discussion had reached a dead end, so we decided to start over next week.

Origin

In sumo, redoing the shikiri (the crouching ritual before the charge) when the two wrestlers' timing at the initial charge does not match. From there it came to mean restarting a match or contest, and also starting negotiations over from the beginning.
